What to Do if I Get Sick

CULTURAL INSURANCE SERVICES INTERNATIONAL (CISI) MEDICAL INSURANCE
Policy Number: GLM N11245213-CIS

The insurance you have while abroad is different from what you are used to. In the vast majority of cases you will need to pay out of pocket for services, then file a claim with the insurance company who will reimburse you. For more information, click here to watch a quick video on how to use your CISI insurance while abroad.

What to Do if I Get Sick?

  • Please let your OPC know and they will help you to identify an appropriate medical provider to seek help/treatment.
  • Upon arrival, present your proof of insurance. If you don't have it with you, reference CISI policy GLM N11245213-CIS.
    • If you are physically able, call CISI at the contact information listed below to see if the hospital/clinic you are receiving treatment in has a direct billing agreement with CISI. If so, the hospital can bill CISI directly and you do not have to pay out of pocket. If not, you will need to pay out of pocket and submit a claim form. Make sure you keep your receipts!
  • When completing a claim form, make sure to attach itemized bills/receipts for all amounts being claimed.
  • Follow the submission instructions on the claim form, but you can submit via email or via mail at claimhelp@mycisi.com or River Plaza, 9 West Broad Street, Stamford, CT 06902-3788.
  • For claim submission questions, call +1 (203) 399-5130 or email claimhelp@mycisi.com. Claims generally take up to 30 days to process.
